Timothy Shenk is Assistant Professor of History at George Washington University and the author of Left Adrift: What Happened to Liberal Politics(2024) and Realigners: Partisan Hacks, Political Visionaries, and the Struggle to Rule American Democracy (2022). He is past editor of Dissent.
Laura K. Field is an expert on conservative intellectuals whose writing has appeared in The Bulwark, The New Republic, and Politico.
All speakers will be in conversation with Brent Cebul, author of Illusions of Progress: Business, Poverty, and Liberalism in the American Century and, in 2025, co-editor of Mastery and Drift: Professional Class Liberals since the 1960s.
