Screening w/ Director Andy Wolk
Andy Wolk, C'70, presents an exciting Zoom by screening his riveting film Rough Magic: Exit Shakespeare. It has played at many Film Festivals and won a number of awards and now we are honored to present a special evening showing of the film – which is 37 minutes long – followed by an audience discussion with Andy (who directed, co-wrote and produced the film) about both the creative process involved in making a movie and the issues the film raises about aging and looking back on your life and those thorny questions like did I do the right thing and make the right choices in my life, and, of course, Shakespeare.
“If I can’t write anymore, who am I?” A desperate Shakespeare fears that he has lost his powers. Was all his success worth the cost to his personal life? Over the course of Rough Magic, the playwright attempts to come to terms with the loss of his powers and the process of aging. Can he create one more triumph and embrace life and his family again?
