Master’s Programs

The School of Arts and Sciences offers both professional and academic master’s programs.

Professional master’s programs at SAS serve a diverse community of full-time students, working professionals who study part-time, explorers considering applications to doctoral programs, and lifelong learners who want to improve workplace credentials or enrich their lives.

Academic master’s programs award a Master of Arts degree after completion of requisite coursework and exams. If you decide to enroll in a master’s program in an academic discipline rather than a professional field, keep in mind that you will most likely need a Ph.D. (or another terminal degree) if you decide to pursue a career as an academic.
