Allyson Mackey, Assistant Professor of Psychology, was named a CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar. She is one of 13 scholars in the 2020-2022 cohort.

CIFAR, a Canadian-based global research organization, funds and supports early-career researchers to help them become leaders in global research. The Global Scholars program awards recipients with $100,000 in research support over two years and provides opportunities for presentations and collaboration with members of their cohort.

Mackey’s research investigates how brain development and environmental and experiential factors contribute to changes in the mind. She studies brain plasticity, learning, structural and functional neuroimaging, and real-world academic outcomes.

Alan Bernstein, CIFAR President and CEO, says, “Early-career researchers are fearless and they have the brilliant ideas that will change the world. The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars program is designed to nurture the world's next generation of outstanding scientists and science leaders. These 13 scholars join a preeminent community of researchers from around the world, interested not just in advancing knowledge, but in seeing the impact that knowledge can have across disciplines and on the world.”
