History of Ideas Wins PROSE Award

Rosenfeld and Struck

The six-volume A Cultural History of Ideas, co-edited by Sophia Rosenfeld, Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History, and Peter Struck, Professor of Classical Studies, has been recognized by the 2023 Association of American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE Awards) for best work in the category of Reference and Textbooks in Humanities. The work was also one of three finalists in the category World History.

The series explores the nature of ideas over 2,800 years. Expert contributors examine themes including knowledge, the human self, ethics, politics, economics, nature, religion, and the arts. To read a Q&A with Rosenfeld and Struck about the project, click here.

Since 1976, the PROSE Awards have recognized the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by celebrating the authors, editors, and publishers whose landmark works have made significant advancements in their respective fields of study each year.
