Joseph Subotnik Awarded Outstanding Junior Faculty Award

The Computers in Chemistry (COMP) program division of the American Chemical Society has named Joseph Subotnik as an HP Outstanding Junior Faculty member for spring 2012. The goal of the awards is to help new faculty members garner visibility within the COMP community.

Subotnik, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, studies theoretical quantum chemistry, with a focus in electronic transport in molecules and man-made nanostructures. He joined Penn’s faculty in 2010.

He is a former ACS Postdoctoral Highlighted Fellow in Physical Chemistry, an NSF International Postdoctoral Fellow and previous recipient of the John and Frannie Hertz Foundation Fellowship in Applied Sciences. He currently holds editorial positions with the Journal of Physical Chemistry, the Journal of Chemical Physics, Molecular Physics and Chemical Physics. He received his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of California Berkeley.
