Penn Arts and Sciences Faculty Receive 2017 University Teaching Awards

Four members of the Penn Arts and Sciences faculty are recipients of University-wide teaching awards:

David Christianson, Roy and Diana Vagelos Professor in Chemistry and Chemical Biology
Beth Linker, Associate Professor of History and Sociology of Science

PROVOST'S AWARD FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE BY NON-STANDING FACULTY
Lorene Cary, Senior Lecturer in English

PROVOST'S AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED PH.D. TEACHING AND MENTORING
Madeleine Joullie, Professor of Chemistry

The Lindback Awards for Distinguished Teaching at the University of Pennsylvania were established in 1961 with the help of the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation. Since 1988, The Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence by Non-Standing Faculty has been awarded to two members of Penn’s associated faculty or academic support staff, one in the non-health schools and one in the health schools. The Provost’s Award for Distinguished Ph.D. Teaching and Mentoring has been awarded to two members of Penn’s standing or associated faculty in any school offering the Ph.D. since 2004.
