In light of today’s Supreme Court decision regarding race-conscious admissions in higher education, the School of Arts & Sciences expresses its firm support for the statement by President Magill and Provost Jackson and asserts its unwavering commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging that are inherent in our mission.

As a school we treasure every student’s academic achievements and all that they bring to Penn; we also value the promise of every student and remain dedicated to nurturing an environment where each student thrives. The opportunity to learn from and with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences has been, and will continue to be, an integral part of a Penn Arts & Sciences education, one that promotes understanding, fosters dialogue, and prepares graduates to be broad-thinking citizens of our diverse society.
