Three SAS Professors Receive 2012 Guggenheim Fellowships

Jamal J. Elias, Class of 1965 Term Professor, Justin McDaniel, Associate Professor of Religious Studies, and Benjamin Nathans, Ronald S. Lauder Endowed Term Associate Professor of History have been awarded 2012 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowships.
They are among 181 scholars, artists, and scientists selected from a field of nearly 3,000 applicants in the Guggenheim’s 88th annual competition for the United States and Canada. Guggenheim Fellowships are intended for men and women who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts.
