Two Penn Alums Win Grammys

Jennifer Higdon, G'92, GR'94, and John Legend, C'99, HON'14, were winners at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
Higdon won Best Contemporary Classical Composition for Harp Concerto. This is her fourth Grammy. Higdon, who earned a masters and doctorate in the Department of Music, received the 2010 Pulitzer Prize in Music for her Violin Concerto.
Legend won Best Rap/Sung Performance for "Higher," a collaboration with DJ Khaled and Nipsey Hussle. Legend, an English major, has won 12 Grammys and is one of only 15 people to win an Emmy, a Grammy, and Oscar, and a Tony.
